Read this before you treat a lesson as a reason to trade.

VIP Learning explains market ideas for study. It is not a broker, an adviser, or a signal service. You can lose money, including everything you commit.

Education, not advice

Nothing on this site is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. Nothing is an offer, a solicitation, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, fund, or other asset. Nothing here is personalized to your income, debts, age, taxes, or goals.

Reading a lesson does not create an adviser-client relationship, a brokerage relationship, or a fiduciary duty. VIP Learning is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial institution.

You can lose money

Securities prices fall. Companies fail. Inflation changes what cash can buy. Past prices, including any chart-like drawing used as decoration on this site, are not a preview of future prices. A lesson that describes compounding uses arithmetic. It does not forecast a return.

Simplifications

The notes leave out exceptions: share classes, accounting choices, taxes, fees, liquidity, and the difference between a textbook firm and a living one. Lessons use round numbers and imaginary companies. A price-to-earnings ratio, an enterprise-value sketch, or a discount rate is a way of speaking. It is not a valuation you should act on.

Round numbers in a lesson are there so the arithmetic stays visible. They are not rates you can expect, and they are not targets.

Your decisions stay yours

You are responsible for any decision you make after reading here. Check primary sources — company filings, official statistics, a prospectus — before you rely on a definition. For advice about your own money, speak with a professional who is licensed to give it and who knows your situation.

No warranty

Lessons are provided as-is. They may be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. We can change or remove a page without notice. Laws and market structure differ by country. A definition that is fair as a general description may be the wrong description where you live.
